About Maxon

Max Lugash developed the original Tuk-A-Way gate in 1957, and Maxon has been improving ever since. Since then, they’ve worked with a network of industry professionals to grow into one of the leading liftgate manufacturers in the world. They’ve expanded their product line considerably since 1957 to offer more diverse solutions to companies that need liftgates for commercial transportation.

Types of Maxon Liftgates

Maxon offers a variety of different liftgate solutions to give their customers multiple options and convenient flexibility. Their offerings include all of the following:

  • Light Duty – These liftgates are designed to work for light or moderate loads. They’re appropriate for pickup trucks, service bodies, stakebeds, van bodies, and cargo vans. These liftgates are designed to be easy, safe, and cost-effective to use.

  • Railift Series – Maxon was the first company to bring the rail liftgate style to the United States in the 1970s. These products are designed for heavy-duty work and efficient dock loading. Rail liftgates are popular in some of the most challenging applications of the distribution industry.

  • Conventional – This is the original style of the liftgate, and Maxon has worked hard to perfect the art of creating simple, effective operation. Conventional liftgates store flat against the door of a truck or trailer, or may even serve as the actual door or tailgate for the vehicle.

  • Tuk-A-Way – Maxon created the Tuck-A-Way liftgate so the platform could be stored under the body of the truck and be ready for use at a dock. Their platforms are available in a variety of different sizes and can fit many different bed heights.

  • Slidelift – Slider-type gates store horizontally under the truck or trailer, and don’t need extension plates. They can accommodate swing or roll-up doors.

  • Columnlift – This is one of the best examples of what can happen when state of the art technology, features, and options are combined. The Column lift liftgates offer superior performance and can durably withstand gate impacts.

  • Gas Bottle – Maxon is devoted to meeting all of their customer needs, and their gas bottle liftgates show that clearly. The company offers a variety of non-conventional loading solutions.
