About Tommy Gate Liftgates
Delbert “Bus” Brown founded Tommy Gate in 1965 and named it after his son. Legend has it that Bus used to load hydraulic lifts into his pickup trailer and drive around to sell them. He’d install the liftgates himself, and return home once he’d sold all of the gates he had with him. The process has scaled considerably since then, and Tommy Gate now operates out of a 200,000 square foot factory, which is still located right where the company was founded in Woodbine, Iowa.
Woodbine Manufacturing Company is named after, and committed to, its community. It’s also 100% family-owned.
